You're right, not a comment in the L.A.T. or other major papers. If true, Obama cannot take office even if he receives a majority of the votes. As a lawyer, he knows full well what he faced when be first began his campaign, yet still risked tying this nation up in a Constitutional crisis.
He knew well in advance of everyone. What does he expect, that they will change the Constitution especially for him? It is possible that they may be able to prove that he was born in Nairobi, Kenya. If so, he was not "natural born" and faces disqualification. They'll try to put the blame elsewhere, but if true, the blame lies with a man who has deceived his friends, his party and the voters all this time. If he was born in Hawaii, then he should have a birth certificate from that State and he has not produced one so far. We are all asked to produce ours at one time or another, so what is wrong with a candidate for President showing his and establishing where he was born?
McCain was challenged on the same issue because his father was stationed in the Canal Zone at the time, and he satisfied the requirements by showing his papers. Okay, if it was fair to require it of a Republican, then it is also fair to require it of a Democrat, is it not?
Relatives in Kenya, including his grandmother, say he was born in Nairobi, Kenya, that his mother was visiting her husband in Kenya at the time of his birth. There is an obvious conflict here that must be straightened out, and it is fair and legitimate to ask that it be done, now, before we face a problem which could shake this nation to its' roots. Let him settle this problem now, today, before things get worse.
Obama has a legal and moral obligation to put this question to bed, and only he can do it.
