A US government task force is suggesting that women under 50 years of age do not need mammograms and over 50 years of age a mammogram is only needed every 2 years. The task force also discourages women from performing self breast exams. Thy claim self breast exams do no good and women should not be taught this practice. This is murder under the guise of saving money. The American Cancer Society is in disagreement with the government. The cancer society claims it is much less expensive to treat most tumors, that are caught with early detection, with lumpectomies.  The new guidelines were issued by the US Preventive Services Task Force. The reason this is such a travesty is because it negates all of the hard work the American Cancer Society has accomplished over the years trying to convince women about the importance of early detecti9on.  women  more aware of  early detection. This is just another reason not to trust a government that is led by no one more than a community organizer. HF
